Queen Elizabeth II memorial round – from Philip Oestreich of Bourne 55 Archery Club

Good morning,

I’m a member of the Bourne 55 archery club, and we regularly meet on the army base at Thorney Island.

A couple of weeks ago, the last scheduled outdoor shoot of the season on the base, members were asked what round they would like.

As it was the first shoot following the laying to rest of Her late Majesty, I suggested a different round to commemorate her life and reign.  It was a well well received idea, and it was put to me to send you an email too, to ask if it would be possible for Archery GB to recognise this commemorative round.  I would appreciate your thoughts on this?

Queen Elizabeth II:
8 dozen at 70 yards, with imperial scoring, on a full face.

The reason for these figures are: a 96 arrow ‘salute’ (as per the many gun salutes around the country), and the length of Her reign, 70 years (yards).

We enjoyed shooting the round, and the scoresheet produced by the club is attached for your interest.

With kind regards

Phil Oestreich
